The SdKfz 4, nicknamed Maultier ('mule') was a family of half-tracks developed by Opel after the 1941 invasion of Russia as the ice and mud bogged down the trucks (primarily the 3t Opel Blitz Type 3.6-36 S) that were used to supply German forces. Utilising the British Carden-Lloyd running gear - as used on the Universal Carriers - the SdKfz4 could go where most trucks could not and proved invaluable in the fight against the Soviets. Armed only with an MG 34 or MG42 machine-gun and thin armour plating, however, the SdKfz 4's were not ideal in close quarter battle against anything greater than small arms fire. contents: this blister pack contains 2x German SdKfz 4 'Opel Maultier'
